ICF calls for unity in Itsekiriland

By Daniel Gumm
WARRI — As more groups joined the clamour for support for Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan’s administration in Delta State, Itsekeri Consultative Forum (ICF) has called on individuals and groups yet to appreciate the leadership quality and good intentions of the governor to come on board.

ICF National Chairman, Dr. George Omiwere–Ete Boyo, made the call while speaking at the one year anniversary of the group held in Warri, Delta State, weekend.

Dr. Boyo said Governor Uduaghan has proved beyond doubt his ability to govern a multi–ethnic state as Delta, justifying the support he was enjoying from within and outside the state.

Expressing joy for the support Dr. Uduaghan has received, Boyo called for more support for the governor to enable him perfect the programmes and policies he has initiated for the overall development of the state.

He advised the people to imbibe the spirit of patience as those who were hasty in distancing themselves from the present administration were now convinced that Dr. Uduaghan is a man capable of delivering the dividends of democracy anytime, any day.

Boyo, who expressed concern over the health of President Umaru Musa Yar’ Adua, also prayed for his speedy recovery, and urged the president to anchor his hope on God, as He alone gives healing.

He called in the Itesekiri nation to come together to build a formidable force that would stand them out in the community of other ethnic groups, saying “united we can move mountains.”

He reiterated the ICF’s support for anything that would engender development in Itekiri land.
