Gboko LG Chairman gets impeachment notice

MAKURDI — Fresh crisis has broken out in Gboko local government area of Benue State between the council legislature and the Chairman, Mr. Simon Agua who has been handed an impeachment notice by the legislature on grounds of alleged gross misconduct.

The notice which was signed by the Gkoko local government council leader, Mr. Godwin Kuha and 16 others had raised fresh impeachable allegations against the embattled chairman pursuant to section 30(1) of the Local Government Establishment Law 2007.

According to the details of the impeachment notice, the legislators prepared five grounds of impeachment bordering on alleged gross misconduct and failure to put the council legislature on notice on the council’s expenditure profile and financial status.
