LAGOS State governor, Babatunde Raji Fashola, has charged leaders to see leadership as a divine call to serve and not an instrument for amassing illegal wealth.
Fashola, who spoke through his special adviser on local government and chieftaincy affairs, Samuel Olaide Ifemade, at the opening of a two-day seminar, entitled, Good Responsible Service Delivery in Lagos State, organized by the Forum for Righteous Living (FRIL), said leaders whose ultimate aim was to line their pockets at the expense of the masses should have a rethink.
The governor urged local government chieftains to critically address the issues of corruption, indolence and godfatherism which have eaten deep into the fibre of the nation.
