ABUJA—An Abuja High Court yesterday issued an order stopping the Inspector General of Police, Mr. Ogbonna Onovo from inviting or arresting the former Managing Director, Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC), Alhaji Ganiyu Ogunleye and five others.
The five others are the NDIC Executive Director of Operations, Prof. Peter Umoh, two members of CBN-Interim Management Committee for Fortune Bank, Dr Joe Emerson, and Mr Innocent Ilozumba, a Manager with Fidelity Bank, Adedapo Agboola and the estwhile Chief Accountant of Fortune Bank, Pius Obeleke..
The order followed a formal request by the Chambers of Mr. Okunade Olorundare, SAN, against the IGP.
The trial judge, Justice Othman Musa also restrained the police from arraigning or re-arraigning, questioning or do anything whatsoever pending the hearing and determination of the motion on notice.
