Cadbury fortifies consumers’ loyalty through broadcast stations

CADBURY Nigeria   PLC, has fortified consumers loyalty through partnerships with broadcasting stations and the popular Calabar Carnival.  

The broadcast stations are the Broadcasting Corporation of Oyo State (BCOS) Ibadan, and Lagos Television, Channel 8.

Akomen Omijeh, Corporate Communications Manager, said the choice of BCOS, LTV 8, and Calabar Carnival by the beverage and candy company was due to their reach to consumers in the South West, and South-South part of the country. Reach refers to the total number of people that are exposed to a message through broadcast vehicles over a given period of time.

Akomen, noted that an estimated 60,000 people are expected at BCOS, to visit the fair ground throughout the duration of the event.

The BCOS Ibadan Father Christmas-Fair is the largest Christmas event in Ibadan and environs. The event, which has commenced was declared open by the Oyo State First Lady, Mrs. Oluwakemi Alao Akaia, will continue till this weekend,”he said.

Similarly, he said that the company was also partnering with LTV Channel 8 on their 25th Year Christmas Fair Anniversary, to reach out to their numerous consumers.

He explained “During the fair, there would be a special Cadbury Bournvita Family Funfair that would feature interesting family games with opportunities for winning exciting gift items.

Free tickets to visit the Father Christmas grotto will be given to children who visit the Cadbury Bournvita Pavilion.

The Free Breast Cancer Awareness Mobile Clinic will be present at the fair ground for three days to counsel women and mothers on breast cancer. Other Cadbury confectionery brands would not be left out as lovers of football will also have the opportunity to visit the TomTom Virtual Football Arena.

There would also be a Butterrnint Teenage Expression Day with dancing and a special guest artist and comedian to entertain consumers.”

Shedding light on the choice of Calabar Children’s Carnival, he said that it’s because of its unique display of Nigerian and African heritage and an annual month long celebration in Cross River State at this period of the year.

“Bournvita is the Official Sponsors of the Calabar Children’s Carnival and Christmas Party that will take place on Saturday, December 26, 2009.

 “We have lined up interactive, exciting and rewarding activations at the Bournvita centres of fun in Lagos and Ibadan.
