Stop shadow-chasing Anenih, Arigbe-Osula charges Oshiomhole

By Emmanuel Aziken
Abuja—The All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) gubernatorial candidate in the 2007 elections in Edo State, Mr. Emmanuel Arigbe-Osula, has charged Governor Adams Oshiomhole to focus on his campaign promises instead of chasing shadows of Chief Tony Anenih, the PDP leader in the state.

Reacting to comments against the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its leaders at last weekend’s state Action Congress rally in Benin, Arigbe-Osula expressed surprise that Oshiomhole shied away from chiding former PDP chieftains who according to him ruined Edo State for eight years and subsequently decamped to the AC.

Arigbe-Osula, who himself, recently decamped to PDP said: “I was more surprised that Oshiomhole could rain insults on Chief Anenih rather than looking around and questioning those who were standing with him, who were the beneficiaries and actors in the reckless looting of Edo State’s treasury.’’

“But the good thing that came out of that rally that day was the exposition and unmasking of AC in Benin as the illegitimate PDP, the arm of PDP that was expelled because of their dubiousness, the heartless and reckless destruction of Edo State for eight years,’’ Arigbe-Osula, former deputy minority leader in the House of Representatives said.

““Let Oshiomhole move around and ask himself a sincere question, the characters and actors that destroyed Edo State, the Governor, the Chief of Staff, the members of the Igbinendion political family that were in PDP, that ruined Edo State are the people that he is today feasting, dinning with while he is pouring insults at someone who he admitted was not the Governor of Edo State for eight years.’’

““The only mistake which is itself not a mistake that Chief Anenih committed was being nice to a group of ingrates by allowing them after four years of destruction of Edo State to be re-nominated to spend another four years without remorse to continue to destroy our State.’’’’

Expressing delight that the PDP has now been purged, he said:
“I am glad that PDP has purged itself of those people that gave it bad name in the past and those people are today at the helm of affairs.’’’’

““Instead of focusing on issues he is busy abusing an old man and chasing his shadows. He promised free education and all that at his inauguration but we in Edo State who saw free education in the past are waiting on Oshiomhole to deliver,’’’’ he said.
