Star seems to have achieved a feat that is unprecedented in the music industry in Nigeria. In a move that is expected to be a major breakthrough for Nigerian music, the Brand has facilitated the collaboration between The Pulse, winners of 2009 edition of the annual music talent hunt, Star Quest, and international hip-hop icon, Busta Rhymes of the flip mode fame.
Busta Rhymes will feature on the re-mix of hit track So Te. The flip mode master will drop a rap verse on the song, cementing the song to eternal fame. The deal brokered by Star was facilitated by Sheila Ashinze, MD/CEO of Zons PR, the booking agency of the annual Star Mega Jam.
The song will be released in the upcoming and highly anticipated album of The Pulse, under Nigeriaâ€™s premier record Label, Kennis Music. Although, the financial details of the deal remain confidential, it is expected that the collaboration will boost album sales. The collaboration will be performed live at the upcoming Star Mega Jam in Lagos and Abuja.
According to the Marketing Director of Nigerian Breweries Plc, it is expected that this collaboration will open the door to international collaborations for Nigerian artistes and enable them to take their rightful place on the world stage.
Trevor Tahiem Smith Jr. better known as Busta Rhymes and Christopher Brian Bridges, better known as Ludacris, are the two international artistes to headline this yearâ€™s edition of Star Mega Jam, the exciting international music concert sponsored by Star Lager Beer.
Busta Rhymes, one of hip-hopâ€™s most enduring iconic figures and acknowledged among rapâ€™s greatest lyricists and performers, and Ludacris- the highest â€“selling southern hip-hop solo artiste of all time with over 24 million records sold worldwide, 16 Grammy nominations, out of which he has won 6- would be joined by Nigeriaâ€™s biggest twin singing sensation P-Square, Dâ€™Banj, Faze, Timaya, and 9ice to thrill music lovers at the concert holding in Lagos at Lagos Polo Club on December 11 and Old Parade Ground,Abuja on December 12th,2009. Also on the bill are past Star Quest winners KC Presh, Diamonds and The Pulse as well as hot debutants Wande Coal, Bracket and M. I.
Itâ€™s the tenth edition of the annual international music concert and Star, the nationâ€™s number one lager is poised to make this a memorable one for music lovers nationwide.
This was revealed at a press conference to announce plans for the event on Wednesday byÂ Tony Agenmonmen, Marketing Manager, Lager said in keeping with the tradition of StarÂ concerts, the brand has made entry in to these concerts very easy. As the gate fee for Lagos and Abuja will be maintained at 500 Naira.
