President of world fashion council comes to Nigeria

President of the World Fashion Council, the regulatory body of the international fashion industry Paco De Jaimes. is expected to be  the Special guest of honour at the   Nigeria Fashion Week 2009 holding from 23rd – 25th November at the Muson Center, Lagos.

The Nigeria Fashion Week 2009,  organised and packaged by Legendary Gold Limited in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Culture and Tourism and in  partnership with  the World Fashion Association, will be declared open by Her Excellency, Dame Patience Goodluck Jonathan, Wife of the Vice President and Senator Bello Jibrin Gada, Honourable Minister of Tourism, Culture and National Orientation.

The President of the World Fashion Council, Paco De Jaimes will be accompanied to Nigeria by 3 top officials of the world body. He will also bring a television production crew who amongst others will undertake the production of a documentary on a Nigerian designer. This is being done in all 41 countries participating in the World Fashion Week.

According to Lexy Mojo-Eyes, President of Legendary Gold Limited “ all our four events this year comes up towards the end of November. We decided to have them all around the same time in order take full advantage all our international guests”. According to the schedules released by Legendary Gold, the Nigeria Fashion Week comes up 23rd – 25th, Nigeria Fashion Show and the Nigeria Model Awards comes up together on the 26th while the Nigeria Fashion Awards comes up 29th November, 2009 at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja.

Mr Mojo-Eyes revealed that the winner of the Nigeria Fashion Show 2009 gets a month internship in Paris with top French designer, Nathalie Garcon, while winner of the Nigeria Model Awards represents Nigeria at the Ford Supermodel  of the World Contest, where she stands the opportunity of winning $250,000 worth of modelling contract.

Other international guests expected at the show  are Fashion Television,  French designer, Nathalie Garcon and top fashion photographer, Sara White Wilson all from Paris, Elle, Vogue and Cosmopolitan from Milan, Robert Knapp of Ford Models, New York and Aristeo Tengco of New York Emmanuel Models.

In a move to give back to the Nigerian Fashion industry, Legendary Gold Limited during the Nigeria Fashion Week 2009 will be organising workshops and symposiums for industry professionals. This includes fashion designers, models, fashion photographers, fashion writers, fashion editors and so on. These forums will be conducted by international fashion resource persons.
