Ogunjobi urges Eaglets to win title for NFF

Excited at the Golden Eaglets’ final berth in the final of the 13th FIFA U-17 World Cup, the Chairman of the Abuja Sub-seat of the  Local Organising Committee, Chief Taiwo Ogunjobi has urged the players to ensure they put a smile on the faces of the members of the Executive Committee of the Nigeria Football Federation by winning the cadet championship title.

The Eaglets would this evening line out against Switzerland in the final that promises to explosive and entertaining following the calibre of players the teams would parade in the battle.

Elated at the Eaglets’ previous victories from the group stage of the game, Ogunjonbi told the players to remain focused in the final.
“Your ability to win the title would definitely bring a big relief to us as we’ve virtually lost everything we ought to have dominated. You did it in far away Korean two years ago when the tougher teams were on your way.

Don’t underestimate the Swiss as such could ruin your chances of lifting the trophy. You’ve crushed tougher teams, and Switzerland should not pose any threat to your dream and aspiration. Your victory in the final would definitely bounce you to higher height in your chosen career, and we will support to achieve your dreams”, Chief Taiwo Ogunjobi told the players.

Ogunjobi, who is the chairman of the NFF  Technical Committee, told the players that “You’re now in the final, and your performance against the Swiss would be used to judge what you’ve been doing in the last 21 days.

“You should also note that top Fifa officials would be among the spectators to watch you as well as the Nigerian supporters that have been solidly behind all these while. So, you must do everything to win and put smiles on the faces of Nigerians.”

He however told the players that they would all graduate to the national Under-20 team alongside their handlers.“Everyone is appreciative of what you’ve do so far, and you would all progress to the next level.

The NFF Technical Committee has already recommended to the Executive Committee that all the players of the Golden Eaglets and their technical crew should progress to the national Under-20 team, the Flying Eagles. So, your next outing would be in the Flying Eagles and you are likely to still have John Obuh as your coach in the Flying Eagles squad” Ogunjobi stated that the decision to promote the Eaglets cach as well as the players was based on the level of their performance in the FIFA U-17 World Cup which comes to an end today.
