Two weeks after the curtain was drawn on the 2009 FIFA U-17 World Cup, the Lagos Sub-Seat of the Local Organising Committee has declared its balance sheet.
The Sub-Seat earlier last week submitted its audited account to the Local Organising Committee (LOC).
According to the document, the Sub-Seat spent the sum of N81, 064,614.54 to host the Lagos centre of the championship, while it received the sum of the N65, 500,000.00 from the LOC. The document also showed a deficit of N15, 564,614.54.
The Sub-Seat had submitted a budget of N504 million to the LOC but was given the sum N65, 500,000.00.
The report showed that the sum of N8, 40,200.00 was spent on volunteers.
While N8, 667,980.00 was spent on Information Communication Technology (ICT), Media and Publicity; Secretariat/Administration and Finance (N2, 942,000.00) and Venue/Facilities (N6, 318,800.00).
Others are: Committee Allowances ( N1,870,000.00), Marketing ( N38,000.00), Medical (N1,005,000.00), Security (N3, 565,000.00), Kickoff Day Competition Entertainment (N6, 150,050.00).
Identity Cards (N230, 000.00), Accreditation (N1, 167,000.00), Air Travel (N3,840,980), Accommodation( N1,322,000.00),FIFA Youth Programme (N3,322,000.00)
The breakdown also includes, Protocol (N1,499,000.00), Transportation/Fuel (N6,571,785.00),Salaries /wages and allowances (N16,665879.54) and Sundry Expenses(N7,976,16000).
The Sub-Seat is the first among the eight centres to make its accounts public. A detailed report of the activities and management of the Lagos State government interventions in the hosting of the championship of the Sub-Seat is expected to be submitted the State Governor, Mr.Babatunde Fashola(SAN) soon.
