Imo govt involves youths in Ahiajoku Lecture

OWERRI—Imo State Government has included youths in this year’s Ahiajoku Lecture, scheduled to be delivered by former Minister of Science and Technology, Professor Barth Nnaji.

The Deputy Governor, Dr. Ada Okwuonu, disclosed this in a chat with Vanguard in Owerri, on activities lined up for the programmes,  this year.

“The inclusion of youths is to carry them along the path of self-rediscovery. Governor Ikedi Ohakim insisted that
youths must be an important component of this year’s celebration,” Okwuonu said.

According to the Deputy Governor, government had concluded arrangements to establish Ahiajoku Institute, which will take over the responsibility of organising the annual lecture.

Speaking earlier, the Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Chief Chuma Nnaji, commended journalists for their cooperation during the last Ahiajoku Lecture, delivered by Professor Chinua Achebe.
