Galadima rules out foreign coach for Eagles

•Advocates consortium of coaches
ERSTWHILE Chairman of Nigeria Football Association, NFA, Alhaji Ibrahim Galadima, has appealed to Nigerians angling for a foreign Technical Adviser to sheathe their sword as such hasty decision would scupper Nigeria’s chances at both the Nations Cup in Angola and the World Cup in South Africa. Galadima said instead of hiring a foreign coach, the technical committee of the NFF, should bring a consortium of coaches to tinker the team with Amodu Shuaibu.

“I thank God that we qualified for the World Cup. In the first place, Amodu never appointed himself. He has qualified for the World Cup. So, why throw him away? Getting a foreign coach to lead the Eagles to Angola or World Cup to me is risky. The time is too near and a coach must understand the attitude and mentality of players before he can turn them around.

A foreign coach will be counter-productive. Instead, we can get other hands to put heads together with Amodu. If we want a foreign coach, we should be talking about 2014 and not the World Cup in South Africa”, Galadima said.
