For being such a worthy exemplar in public office, Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola of Lagos State would on Friday, December 18 at the Sheraton Hotels and Towers, Lagos, be honoured in a grand awards ceremony called the Paragon Awards for the Architects of A New Lagos, PAANEL.
Organized by Paragon International magazine, a profoundly entertaining, informative and educative journal, the PAANEL seeks to honour those rare public officials committed to enthroning a new Lagos where everything works. And as the grand architect of the new face of Lagos, it would be Governor Fashola’s day.
To share the spotlight with him are Senator Olorunnibe Mamora, a former Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Senator Ganiyu Solomon and Honourable Abike Dabiri, who have all contributed to the growth of the state in their individual capacity among select other public and private officials. Sandra Dickson, Publisher, Paragon Magazine, said, “Since the magazine debuted, we have taken it upon ourselves to identify people suited for role models and honour them correspondingly.
Essentially, the PAANEL is a token of our appreciation to Governor Fashola for all that he has done in Lagos. Some members of the Governor’s visionary team who have been identified to be committed to his vision and mission would also be honoured at the ceremony.†Initially billed to hold on Friday, November 27, Dickson said that the date was changed because it coincides with the Sallah celebrations. Incidentally, Fashola, the chief honouree is a practicing Moslem.
