Ebonyi Police Command to get new hdqtrs

Abakaliki— A befitting headquarters will soon be built for the Ebonyi Police Command to enhance its operations, Mr Parry Osayande, the Chairman, Police Service Commission, said yesterday,  in Abakaliki.

Osayande, who was on a working visit to the command, explained that the building, which currently serves as the headquarters in Abakaliki,  was actually meant for the Area Command of the force in the state.

“It is also regrettable that the command does not have an Officers’ Mess, as the place currently being used for the purpose belongs to an individual,’’ he said.

The retired Deputy Inspector-General of Police noted that the essence of the working visits to all the commands in the country was to determine their problems and proffer solutions.

“We will submit our reports to the appropriate authorities and work toward prompt implementation of the recommendations,’’ he said.

Osayande commended the command for ensuring that Ebonyi remained one of the low crime prevalent states in the country.
