Ase community asked to support govt projects

UGHELLI — CHAIRMAN of Ndokwa East Local Government Council, Delta State, Mr. Chike Ugwumadu has charged indigenes of Ase community in the council area to assist in the promotion and implementa-tion of Government programme.

Giving the charge while delivering drugs and eye glasses donated to the community by Ogbaru Development Union (ODU), in the United States of America, the council Chairman stressed the need for the community to make judicious use of the medical items with a view to ensuring that everyone benefited from them.

Ugwummadu thanked the group for its kind gesture and expressed satisfaction with its support for the human capital development agenda of the State governor, Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan.

On his part, the President of the group, Mr. Bruce Nwachie commended the council Chairman for providing logistics and machineries for the success of the programme, adding that the ODU comprised of the riverine communities within the Ndokwa East local Government Area and Communities in Ogbaru Local Government Area of Anambra State.

Also speaking during the occasion, the Head of the Primary Health Centre Department of the Local Government Council, Mrs. Mercy Oyemike disclosed that the Ndokwa East Local Government Council had in October 2008 sponsored a free medical treatment and surgery across the council area.

She added that over 10,000 persons with eye related problems were treated while about 1,000 persons underwent cataract surgery.
