Obi, Umeh blamed for APGA crisis

By Chidi Nkwopara

OWERRI—Governor Peter Obi and his factional chairman, Chief Victor Umeh,  have been blamed for the crisis in the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA).

“Because both men have no electoral value and because after stealing APGA from Chief Chekwas Okorie, they turned dictators, nemesis is now catching up with them”, Chancellor of South East People’s Assembly (SEPA), Chief Elvis Agukwe said in Owerri, yesterday.

Chief Agukwe was reacting to a statement credited to Chief Umeh,  that the chairman of INEC, Prof Maurice was responsible for APGA crisis.

He said it was regrettable that instead of Governor Obi and Chief Umeh to acknowledge “that they are total failures, they have gone ahead to expose their ineptitude”.

He alleged that greed drove Obi and Umeh to dislodge foundation members from APGA, noting that they are now crying because the rule of law has taken its due place in Anambra politics.

He said, “how come Obi could not organise local government election for four years? Why could they not organise a convention for the party when they were in charge if not greed and ineptitude?”

Chief Agukwe said  Obi should hide his head in shame going by the number of people who are gunning for his seat.

“Obi by now should know that he is not an issue in Anambra politics. If he was doing that well, how come that more than 45 people want to unseat him? In fact Amanbra people barely tolerated him after the kidnap saga involving Governor Ngige”, he said.
