Obi calls for patriotism from Ndi Anambra

Obosi—Governor Peter Obi of Anambra state has called for patriotism from Ndi Anambra in order to enhance the development of the state.

Obi made the call at the weekend, in Obosi in Idemili North LGA, while speaking at the 13th Obiora Festival of Igwe Josiah Nwakobi, the Traditional Ruler of Obosi Ancient Kingdom, and the inauguration of Nkem-Efuna ICT Skills Acquisition Centre.

He said that the state has abundant human, natural and capital resources but lacked the needed patriotism to effectively put these resources to work.

The Governor said, “Anambra state indigenes rank first in every invention and profession in the country but most of our people lack the patriotism to bring back their knowledge and wealth to support the development of the state.

You go to other parts of the country, especially in Lagos state, you will  marvel at the level of contribution of our people to the development of that state. I call on Ndi Anambra to think home and put their patriotism to work for the rapid development and alleviation of poverty among our people’’.

Obi praised Chief Osita Chidoka (Ike Obosi), Corps Marshal of FRSC, for founding the Nkem-Efuna Foundation and establishing a state-of-the-art ICT training centre for the people of the state.
