Oando signs pact to curb customers challenges

As parts of efforts at  satisfying its consumers’ taste and maintain its stride as a major oil marketing retailer in the Nigeria Petroleum Industry, Oando Marketing Limited, a subsidiary of Oando Plc, has signed a pact with BannerGas, an engineering, construction and maintenance company, for the installation of Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG) filling plants at Oando service Stations nationwide.

This initiative is aimed at bringing respite to Nigeria’s users of gas who up to now have had to live with several challenges associated with gas purchase.

In a quarterly newsletter released by the company, it disclosed that its commitment is to give existing and prospective LPG customers a convenient, safe means of gas dispensing, purchased at a price they can afford and guaranteed refill of gas cylinders of various types and specification with the equipment while they still get to keep their cylinders.

According to the company, the initiative involves the installation of LPG dispensing pumps which will enable on-the-spot dispensing of LNG using a pump meter into the customers’ cylinder by the customer from the station of purchase.

“ The gas dispensing pump is equipped with modern day technology which enables it to fill gas cylinders of different types and specification ensuring no customer is exempted from enjoying the benefits of this initiative,” the report stated,” it said.

The report revealed that the first phase of the deployment was done in June, 2009 with deployment to ten service stations in Lagos, Abuja and kaduna. Subsequent phases are schedule for later in the year which will see deployment of this innovation to additional twenty Oando service stations nationwide by the year end.

The key benefits of the initiative to customers which, according to the company, is the first of its kind to be introduced at retail service stations in Nigeria include: availability, affordability, flexibility, accuracy, added value and safety.
