By Anayo Okoli

Umuahia- THE member representing Ohafia South, Mr. Mba Ukaha says the Foreign Affairs Minister, Chief Ojo Maduekwe was at no time against the aspiration of Ndi Igbo to the presidency of the country.

Rather, he explained, the Minister has been an ardent supporter of an Igbo person becoming the president of Nigeria.

Ukaha also defended the Minister in the recent altercation between him and INEC chairman, Professor Maurice Iwu, saying that Ojo Maduekwe never attacked Iwu when he spoke recently in  New York.

According to Ukaha, what Maduekwe did was merely to restate the feeling of president Umaru Yar’Adua on the 2007 general elections.

According to him, “these enemies are sensing that the president may reshuffle his cabinet and they think by creation problem for Maduekwe, he will be dropped. But they don’t know the role he has been playing in the government, both at home and out side the shores of the country”.

“OJo never stood against Igbo presidency. He wholly supports a president of Igbo extraction. He is in the vanguard of this pursuit. Igbos should work together of fighting each other”, the law maker said.
