UGHELLI—Head of Delta State zone of the  Neo-Black Movement, Mr. Believe Edhebru, has enjoined Nigerians to de-emphasize tribalism and imbibe the spirit of nationalism in the quest to take the nation to the next level.

He also advocated the need for Nigerians to lend support to the re-branding project of the Federal Government.

Edhebru, who spoke during the group’s celebration of Nigeria’s 49th Independence anniversary, said the group was committed to the struggle for the emancipation of the black race.

According to him, the aspirations and struggle of the nationalist leaders who helped to secure independence for the country were in line with the ideals of the movement, although most of them were not members of the group.

He disclosed that it was part of the group’s yearly programme, since its inception, to take active part in the celebration of the country’s independence anniversaries.

That the exercise was being carried out by members at home and in diaspora.
Edhebru stated that it was imperative for Nigerians to shun self-centredness in whatever position of authority they found themselves and reiterated that for the re-branding project to succeed; all Nigerians must be part of it.

He used the occasion to urge Niger Deltans to embrace the amnesty package of the federal government and urged government to be sincere, so the people could understand its real intention.
