Group pledges support for new Abia CP

By Anayo Okoli

Umuahia—CampaIgn for Democracy, Abia state chapter has pledged to work with the new state Police Commissioner, Mr. Jonathan Johnson in his effort to fight crime and criminals in the state, especially, the menace of kidnapping.

Abia CD in letter of congratulations to the new Police Commissioner, urged him to use his stay in the state to bring the much desired change in terms of security in the state, and called on the Abians to give the new police boss the support and cooperation he needs.

“We, the CD Abia hereby call on all and sundry to give him support. As that is the only way through which crime can be fought in the state and peace restored, as we can see our state in security shambles. Our sons and daughter fear returning home. Lives and properties are not safe any more in the state and this has brought economic and social backwardness to the people of the state. Therefore help the Abia state Police Command by exposing criminals in the state. Let’s do our part and leave the rest to God.

“We whole heartily welcome you to Abia state. We hope that your stay in Abia will bring change in the security situation in the state, and make Abia a safe ground for its citizens and visitors to stay. Today, many Abians dread to visit the state, due to fear for their lives and properties, as kidnapping, robbery, etc have taking over the state,” the group added.
