OWERRI—Imo State Command of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) has decried what it termed “the reckless and recalcitrant manner drivers endanger the ;life and property of other road users in the state”.

The Sector Commander, Mr. Angus Ibezim, made the lamentation while fielding questions from journalists in Owerri, on the level of his command’s preparedness for the ember month’s operation.

“Private, as well as drivers of commercial, government and corporate transport
operators are guilty of this offence. The recent road traffic crash, which involved a
bullion van, where 19 people died is condemnable”, Ibezim fumed.

According to the Sector Commander, “the Command is now poised to go beyond rescue
operations to ensuring that transport operators pay indebt attention to their accident victims, especially in their hospital bills”.
