At least two people were burnt to death and others wounded in an early morning fire that engulfed a building in Ajagbandi area of Lagos, Monday.
The cause of the fire which also caused wanton destruction of property which monetary value is yet to be estimated, is yet to be escertained.
The incident brings to seven, people so far burnt to death in a fire outbreak within one week.
Report said residents of number 16, Ukwakwa Street, Ajagbandi were jolted from sleep at about 3 a.m. following an alarm raised. The helpless tenants were said to have scurried out of their apartments, with some managing to salvage their belongings to safety.
Some brave sympathisers were said to have rescued some of the victims who were choked by thick smoke.Unfortunately, one of them identified simply as Henry, said to have suffered severe burns, died on the way to the hospital while an unidentified charred remains was later discovered.
