By Gbenga ARIYIBI, Ado-Ekiti
A fresh move to impeach the Speaker of Ekiti State House of Assembly, Mr Tunji Odeyemi and his deputy, Mr Saliu Adeoti  by some   aggrieved members of the state assembly  have been concluded, as the group has accused the two principal officers of the House of  corruption, favouritism and bad leadership style.

It may be recalled that the  duo escaped being impeached about two months ago due to the intervention of the Governor,Segun Oni who pleaded with those plotting the impeachment not to hit up politics of the state.
Saturday Vanguard reliably gathered that the latest move to kick Odeyemi and his deputy out of office may not be unconnected with the inability of the two key principal members of the House  to account for their stewardships  in office.

While the last straw that broke the camel’s back has to do with the latest re-constituted  House Committees, which were said to have been lopesided with Odeyemi’s cronies, mostly favoured with juicy committees.

A move made by the aggreived lawmakers to call Odeyemi to order was said to have been met with a stone  wall.

The Speaker who has refused to convey the House normal proceedings for more that six weeks now has remained incommunicado in his Lodge and refused to meet his colleagues

One of the  arrow heads of Odeyemi Must Go, Mr Lai Oke who incidentally is the Leader of the Government Business in the House, denied nursing any personally animosity against the person of Odeyemi, saying the Speaker was responsible for the current problem in the House.

Oke queried  the selection of a close friend of the speaker in the House who was put in nine jiucy committees.

‘’How do you think people would not raise questionsin a situation in which one particular person is put in nine juicy juicy committees and you think people should not ask why is this so
Also Speaking with the Saturday  Vanguard , Mr Bisi Kolawole  said majority of the lawmakers are not happy with the leadership style of Odeyemi
‘’People may like to know why is the House not sitting , why has the House passed just two bills in 14 months, whereas, during the Bamisile days, we passed a total of 20 bills in 12 months
But in his defence, the Speaker  accused some of  his colleagues who were accusing him of favouritism of being selfish and narrow minded
‘’If they say they are now put in dry  or non functioning committees, but would l be fair to people who were in these committees before they were dissolved
Odeyemi who spoke to the press through his Chief of Staff, Mr Olu Oladija  accused  the aggrieved lawmakers of using the money  made through the comittees to fight him
Meanwhile, the caucus meeting of the Peoples Democratic Party[ PDP]  at the instance of the state governor, Engr Segun Oni to discuss the burning issue was deadlocked
In a related development, a group operating under the aegis of Movement for the Actualisation of Good Governance in Ekiti[ MAGGIE] have accused the executive arm of government of masterminded the current crisis in the House
According to a statement signed by the co_ordinator of the group in Ado Ekiti weekend,Dr Francis Pelumi Dada, said it was apparent that some people were not comfortable with the way and manner the duo of Odeyemi and Adeoti managed the affairs of the state when the fate fell on them to do so.
