Bread for strength (V)

Lifting up

No wonder Job 22:29 says “when men are cast down, then thou shalt say, there is a lifting up..” what is it that makes men feel cast down? Is it not problems of life? Situations and circumstances can make people feel gloomy, depressed, oppressed and down trodden. But the attitude of praise makes you say always, “There is a lifting up” when the physical reality is showing you a picture of hopelessness and helplessness. The attitude of praise energizes you to say there is a lifting up. What is the situation that you are faced with? Don’’t give the enemy the tool to work with. Don’’t be moody. “When they (people, circumstances, etc) make you low, you will say, There is a lifting …” (Job 22:29 AMP). That, my dear, is the attitude of praise.

lnterestingly, nobody, not even the devil has the authority to take your attitude from you. The only person that has authority over your attitude is you. It is extremely vital that you understand this. If your attitude is right, your altitude will be high. Conversely, if your attitude is wrong, your altitude will proportionately below. Even medical science attests to the fact that happy people have higher chances of living longer than unhappy people. It all has to with attitude. Attitude is more power than disease. Your attitude in life can destroys you faster than any disease you can think of. No wonder God says “when the circumstance of life are trying to make dejected, rejected, underappreciated and overwhelmed, make your own pronouncement that there is a lifting up! Tell your and tell everybody: “am going up because there is a lifting up.” You may have noticed that anytime the Bible talks about Jerusalem, it always says, “going up to Jerusalem”

Geographically, Jerusalem is on a hilltop. So in going Jerusalem, you have to “go up “. Jerusalem is never connected to “going down”. It has spiritual significance. Matt.5:14 says, “ye are the light of the world .A city that is set on an hill can be hid.” And because you are a city set on the hill, when men re saying there is casting down, you will say and continue to there is lifting up .hallelujah!

DRAWING FROM THE WELLS OF… Now let’s go further. In the book of numbers chapter twenty ––one, the children of lsreal were on their way to the promise land. They had left Egypt and as they sojourned in the wilderness, they got to a place where no water was not even a drop. Then in Number 21:16, God spoke to Moses saying: “…Gather the people together, and l will give them water.” Water, as used here, represents what you need to move from where you are to where ought to be. It is what you need to go to your next God-given level in life. What they needed was water. what do you need? Isaiah 1:19 is the key to getting what you need. It says, “If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land.” In Numbers 21:18, the bible says, “The princes dug the well, the noble of the people dug it, by the “DIRECTION OF THE LAWGIVER…” it is imperative that the water must come from a well. The Bible talks about many kinds of wells. There is theAbraham’s well, the Jacob’s well, and the well at Bethlehem. The Bible also talks about the well without water. But l want to talk about the well spoken of in Isaiah 12:3. “Therefore with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation” Now why does the Bible says “wells” but not “well?” It is because the word salvation is multi-faceted.

It is not just about going to heaven alone. Thank God that we are going to heaven but the Greek word translated as salvation is “Sozo”. It means salvation, healing deliverance, prosperity, and victory. In the wells of salvation, there is the well of righteousness, the well of redemption, etc. And it is with an attitude of joy that you should draw from the wells of salvation.
