ENUGU—THE All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) yesterday, dismissed as laughable the purported move by Progressive Peoples Alliance (PPA) to take over the party (APGA) following the factional crisis rocking it, saying the PPA had more crisis to contend with than APGA.
APGA’s Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Mr. Alfred Nwosu, while reacting to a statement credited to Chief Ben Onyechere, National Publicity Secretary of PPA over the party’s move to take over APGA, said the take over plot on account of internal crisis within APGA was a figment of Onyechere’s imagination.
He said that despite the activities of the expelled founding Chairman of APGA, Chief Chekwas Okorie, the party had remained focused under the leadership of the National Chairman, Chief Victor Umeh, who has repositioned the party to the extent that it has become very popular among Ndigbo and indeed all Nigerians.
“It is a figment of Onyechere’s imagination to talk about PPA taking over APGA, rather it is APGA that will take over PPA because they have more problems than they think or imagineâ€, stressing that despite subterranean moves by Okorie and his collaborators to disorganise the party in the past few years, “APGA has remained an enviable political partyâ€.
