ABUJA—Senator Yisa Braimoh (PDP, Edo North) has predicted the imminent reconciliation between erstwhile Chairman of the PDP’s Board of Trustees, Chief Tony Anenih and former governor of the defunct Bendel State, Dr. Sam Ogbemudia.
Reacting to Ogbemudia’s absence at weekend’s Edo PDP rally in Benin, Senator Braimoh affirmed that Dr. Ogbemudia, being one of the founding fathers of the party in the State was not about to jump ship.
Despite assurances that the two major stalwarts in the Edo State PDP led by Chief Anenih and Dr. Ogbemudia would close ranks at the unity rally, the Ogbemudia group boycotted the rally reportedly on account of some yet to be resolved issues.
Expressing hope that the line of demarcation would soon be erased, Senator Braimoh, Vice-Chairman of the Senate Committee on Culture and Tourism said yesterday:
“The on-going difference between the mainstream Edo State PDP and Dr. Ogbemudia’s group is a very thin line. I am convinced that Dr. Ogbemudia has not closed the door to reconciliation.’’
“The newly inaugurated Edo State PDP Exco includes all Dr. Ogbemudia’s nominees in accordance with the directives of the PDP national executive. so, what is the problem? The PDP train in Edo State is already on the move.
As one of the founding fathers of Edo State PDP, I remain assured that Dr. Ogbemudia will not jump ship,’’ he assured.
