DAMATURU — The Yobe State government has been called upon to assist the NYSC in the state for effective and efficient performance.
Speaking to Vanguard in his office in Damaturu, Yobe State Director of the NYSC, Mr. Nuhu Kwaghe, said: “The NYSC in the state has only one functional vehicle which is grossly inadequate for us to carry out all our activities.â€
Mr Kwaghe lamented that the existing NYSC transit camp at Sabon-Pegi, Damaturu “needs repairs and expansion to accommodate more corps members as increasing number of corps members are being deployed to the state.â€
The Yobe State NYSC director said presently, there were 3000 Streams 1 and 2 corps members in the state even as he said some corps members with genuine cases of marriage and health problems had been redeployed from the NYSC headquarters in Abuja to states of their choice.
Kwaghe, however, commended the Yobe State government for the cooperation so far given to the state NYSC and urged the state government to continue to work hand in hand with the NYSC by coming to the aid of the organisation especially in the areas of providing working vehicle and expansion of the transit camp.
