LAGOS—A fatal accident involving a Jeep in the convoy of the Speaker, House of Representatives,  Mr. Dimeji Bankole, prevented him from attending the late Chief  Gani Fawehinmi’s funeral  Monday in Akure, Ondo State

The accident, which occurred  about 3 p.m. Monday at  Ibafo on the Lagos- Ibadan Expressway barely eight minutes after the Speaker’s advanced party from the National Assembly Liaison office left Lagos to await his arrival at Akure Airport from Abuja.

The speaker who was about to leave Abuja Airport when he heard the news had to call off the trip as a mark of  honour to the soul of the departed driver.

Vanguard learnt that the driver whose name was given as Ibrahim Wuse, was buried Monday night  at Atan Cemetery in Lagos.
