ASABA-DELTA State governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, has called on Muslim faithfuls to love their fellow human beings, as his government would continue to encourage religious harmony.
The governor said in a personally signed message on the occasion of the Eid-el-Fitr: “As a government, we will continue to encourage religious harmony, which has continued to blossom in the state. It is noteworthy that Delta State remains a good example of religious harmony.
“I urge you all to continue on this path. I felicitate with our Muslim brothers and sisters on this great occasion of your faithful observance of one of the most important pillars of Islam, the 2009 celebration of the Eid-el-fitr in Delta State.
“This celebration is particularly important, given the fact that it deepens the faith that Muslim faithfuls have in Allah. This fasting and prayer period also reminds us all, especially Muslim adherents, of the faith exhibited by the holy Prophet Mohammed.
“I, therefore, urge all of you to have faith in Allah through believing in him to guide your path in the entrenchment of your love for fellow mortals, assisting in the development efforts of government and sharing love and happiness to the privilege ones in society, not only during this season, but at all times.â€
