YOLA – The recent defeat of the ruling PDP by the Action Congress, AC in two Adamawa State House of Assembly re-run elections is a pointer that all is not well with the party, a faction of the PDP in the state has observed.
Chairman of the faction, Chief Medan Teneke told Newsmen in Yola Friday that his group has accordingly set-up two committees to unravel the circumstances behind PDP failure in the elections.
Teneke, who addressed Journalists after the stakeholders meeting said it is embarrassing to see the party sinking and no attempts were made to revive it.
â€œThe failure of the PDP in Guyuk and Shelleng Constituencies re-run election for the Adamawa State House of Assembly is the worst calamity to have befallen the party of recentâ€, he regretted.
He disclosed that to avoid such ugly and embarrassing defeat, the faction has constituted a separate committee to produce a blue print for winning the forthcoming Federal House of Representatives re-run for the Mubi North/Mubi South and Maiha Constituency where the representative died last month.
The faction, according to Teneke will continue to mount pressure until a congress to elect officers of the party is held.
The factional chairman declared that to achieve the moves, the group has continued its consultations with some major stakeholders across the country.
According to him, a high powered delegation of the faction has just met with National officers of the party in Abuja on ways towards, hoping that the much expected congress will come their ways in a short while.
Chief Medan Teneke declared that notable founding fathers of PDP in Adamawa State, whom he refused to name, have all embraced his faction.
