PDP chieftain advises Mimiko on governance

By James Ezema

LAGOS – Governor Olusegun Mimiko of Ondo State has been advised to face governance and not dissipate  energy on  issues  capable of frittering away the development achieved in the last six years.

A PDP chieftain, Dr Sola Dada, who spoke in Lagos,  said since Mimiko had not submitted  revised budget to the state Assembly, his administration had been spending money without appropriation.

The PDP chieftain said all the projects the governor tagged bazaar were duly provided for in the budget and followed due process before the contracts were awarded.

His words: “Would you say the construction of road or building of an ultra modern stadium is a contract bazaar when some states are taking the advantage of sport and sporting facilities to take a lot of its youth off the street?”

“Or the model classroom blocks and water project  to make learning more conducive and to provide pipe borne water  for the state are wasteful spending. I think we should not allow our personal frustration to becloud our sense of judgment. Our criticisms should be constructive so that the state can move forward instead of dissipating energy on what will not transform the lives of our people.
