Ohakim to launch ‘New Face of Imo’ in Ebonyi

ABAKALIKI – FEW days after his political rival, Senator Ifeanyi Ararume stormed Eboyi state with his political association, where his son took a wife from Ohaozara, Governor Ikedi Ohakim has announced October 9, 2009 date for the lunch of the Ebonyi state chapter of his ‘New Face of Imo’ in Abakaliki.

Chairman of the New Face of Imo in Ebonyi state, Rev. Ifeanyi Ogoke, in a briefing at the weekend, told newsmen in Abakaliki that the re-branding of Imo state is being lunched in every state in Nigeria because Governor Ohakim wants every indigene of the state to take part in developing Imo state.

According to Ogoke “the face of Imo simply means injecting new ideas, fresh ideas into the governance of Imo state. We are talking about transformation, we are talking about excellence in every sectors of life as far as Imo state and its people are concerned.

We are also talking about every Imo person participating in the governance of the state, which is one of the hallmarks of the Ikedi Ohakim administration.

“You hear about Clean and Green and IROMA, these are all the polices of Ohakim and so the New Face of Imo is about supporting these laudable polices of the Ohakim government, so that even when the Governor leaves office, these programme will remain.”

Ogoke stated that the October 9 event is a celebration of Imo day in Eboni state, as all town unions from Imo state but resident in Ebonyi state will come under one umbrella to perform the New Face of Imo.
