port national team coach, Shuaibu Amodu, to qualify Nigeria for the 2010 World Cup.

Speaking in a telephone interview with Sports Vanguard from his Port Harcourt base, Chief Kokoriko said Nigerians should stop criticising the coach, but rather give him useful tips on how Nigeria can earn a ticket to the World Cup.

Against the general stance of most Nigerians, Chief Kokoriko said, “Amodu needs the support of every patriotic Nigerian, because it is not over yet. I am sure the chance to go to South Africa is not lost yet that’s why Nigerians must be united in this cause.”

He also acknowledged the “wonderful role” played by the Presidential Task Force on the 2010 World Cup campaign, emphasising that the Governor Rotimi Amechi-led PTF will deliver the World Cup ticket to Nigeria.

He added that the Alhaji Sani Lulu-led NFF board ought to be respected having given the players all they needed to succeed.
“For the first time in a long while, Super Eagles players have not complained about match bonuses, international obligations have been met and even our coaches have been adequatelysupported in order that they should succeed,” he said, asking “what else should the NFF have done that hasn’t been done?”
