Detectives at the Homicide Section of the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), have begun investigation into the death of a 28-year-old man, who reportedly slumped during a scuffle with his wife in the Amuwo-Odofin area of Lagos.

The deceased, identified as Austine Anthony, was said to have been engaged in a verbal warfare with his wife, one Grace, about 11.30 a.m. last Saturday.

The disagreement over an undisclosed reason, was said to have degenerated into a fight which defied entreaties by curious neighbours.

The fight took a different dimension after the woman reportedly shouted for help, on noticing her husband in a still position. On arrival, neighbours, reportedly rushed the man to the hospital where he was confirmed dead.

Although there was reportedly no blood stain on the man, detectives at the Homicide section, as gathered, have taken the body of the late Anthony to the mortuary for autopsy.

The result of the report, according to Police sources, would determine detectives’ next line of action.
