Asaba—THERE is intensive lobbying for appointment into the State Executive Council following the sack of eleven commissioners last week.
Vanguard gathered that many people have submitted their credentials through ‘powerful’ political figures for onward transmission to the governor.
However, few days before the sack of the Commissioners, a pressure group, Ogume Study Group, addressed a letter to the governor complaining of alleged marginalization in political appointments and has, therefore, called on him to appoint an indigene of Ndokwa West while appointing new commissioners.
The Ogume Study Group in a letter titled “manipulated political imbalance and orchestrated marginalization of the peace loving people of Ogume in Ndokwa West/Delta political arrangementâ€, signed by Mr. Nelson Enumah and six others, said “we are humbly demanding that Ndokwa West political stakeholders should, on the basis of equity, democracy and social justice, concede the following positions to Ogume: commissionership slot of Ndokwa West in Delta state; Executive Council now or once the executive council is dissolved; the chairmanship of Ndokwa West local government area come 2011 and commissionership slot of Ndokwa West in DESOPADEC as
Utagba-Ogbe, occupying the first position in production of oil and gas, is almost concluding its tenure.
The group also requested that, on the basis of Federal Character, any subsequent appointments in the state or federal coming to Ndokwa West should be given to Ogume indigenes.
