A PDP faithful in Enugu state has urged the party members in the State to heed the party’s call for them to register in their various wards in preparation for the forthcoming Local Government elections in the state.
Mr. Jide Chime, who is also leader of the Total Mandate Organisation for Governor Sullivan Chime of Enugu State noted that a party member without a voter’s card will not be useful to the party.
According to him, “the essence of this sensitization in all the seventeen local governments of the state is to ensure that all party members have their voters’ card ready for the Local Government elections coming up on December 5, in Enugu State .
“The mandate group has gone ahead to in addition to the sensitization, provided some forms of assistance to members to make sure they are not left out of this moving train and the response is tremendous because there is nothing like good governance, which the government in power now is providing.
It has galvanized the system as can be attested to by the number of people who are trying to contest for the Councillorship and Chairmanship positions during the coming election in December.
“One major reason for the massive interest in the Local Government elections is that for the first time, the allocations to the various councils gets to them intact and as at when due and today, some Local Government Chairmen have performed creditably as they are following in the footsteps of the State Governor, who has been described as a pleasant surprise by commentators in and outside Enugu State,†he said.
