Ilorin – The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara State has stated that it has not endorsed Senator Gbemisola Saraki as the gubernatorial candidate of the party, just as it denied any rift between the senator and her brother, Governor Bukola Saraki over the governorship race in the state on 2011 polls.
The Publicity Secretary of the party, Alhaji Isiaka Danmairomo in a statement issued in Ilorin, yesterday, advised members of the party to disregard rumour being peddled in some quarters on the endorsement of Senator Gbemisola Saraki for the race.
The statement noted that Senator Saraki has not declared interest in any elective position in the state for the 2011 polls, emphasising that, “Governor Bukola Saraki has never declared interest in, or expressed sympathy for any candidate to succeed him in 2011.â€
“It is pertinent to note that governor Bukola Saraki and the Distinguished Senator have never slugged it out with each other  over 2011 guber race or raise any issue on that “ it added.
The statement added that,†Though Senator Gbemisola Saraki is by virtue of her citizenship of the state and her present occupation qualified to vie for any elective position either at the state or national level but her qualification does not translate to automatic ticket “.
