Jos — Executive Secretary of the Plateau State Muslims Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alhaji Abubakar Dashe has called on politicians to avoid acts and utterances capable of deepening the political crisis in the state.
Reacting to an alleged statement by a top politician in the state (name withheld) that Governor Jonah Jang would be suspended by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) he said such statements could generate negative reactions in the state.
According to him, the statement allegedly made during a visit to the Emir of Kanam, Alhaji Ibrahim Mohammed where other traditional rulers in the area were gathered could create tension among the people.
The executive secretary stressed the need for respected politicians in the state to be impartial in the current crisis in the PDP rather than taking sides and making inflammatory statements.
He said it was such a biased attitude that resulted in the report which the national working committee of the party used as excuse to dissolve the executive of the party in the state a step which has worsened rather than solve the problem.
