Group plots Dikko’s sack as Customs boss

By Ifeyinwa Obi

There were indications that a group disturbed by the recent appointment of the new Comptroller General of Customs CGC,  Alhaji Abdulahi Dikko may have resorted to the use of trump up allegations to back up their demands for a review of the appointment.

This has resulted in a petition purportedly written by a member of the group, one Mr. Olajide Ibrahim alleging that the Comptroller General, about three years ago attempted to terminate his life.

According to the Customs Apapa command PRO, Dera Nnadi, while reacting to the development told newsmen, “any person appointed as the Comptroller General of Customs is worthy and competent to lead the Service. Leadership comes with two things – responsibility and service but it also has its other side – blackmail.

Vanguard gathered that the petition might not be unconnected with the determination of some of those who lost out in the power play to remove Abdullahi from office.
