Group honours Imo natives in Lagos

LAGOS – Imo State Towns Development Association Lagos( ISDAL), has honoured some of its members in Lagos,   who had distinguished themselves in their various fields of endeavour and also contributed immensely to the growth of the state.

17 men and women were honoured, while one grand life patron, two grand patrons, five patrons and nine others received awards of excellence.

Among those who received awards of excellence are Mr Joe Ajaero, the General Secretary, National Union of Electricity Employees (NUEE), Mr. Mitchell Obi, a veteran sports journalist, Mr Emeka Mordi, the councillor representing Ibafo Constituency: Ward ‘H’ in Ajeromi-Ifelodun Local Government Area, Dr. Chima Ibeneche, the first Nigerian Managing Director of Shell Exploration and Production Company (SNEPCo), the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 81 Division of the Nigerian Army, Maj. Gen. Eugene Nwanguma, Ms. Onyeka Onwenu, and Dr. (Mrs) Catherine Okparaeke, Group Managing Director, NICON Insurance.

Chairman /CEO of Bestlink International Limited, High Chief Ernest Ulom was made the life grand patron at the ceremony attended by eminent sons and daughters of Imo state, including the Liaison Officer, Imo State Liaison Office, Mr Austin Otuokere.

Governor Ikedi Ohakim, was represented by the state’s Commissioner for Public Utilities, Mr Ralph Nwosu and Senator Ike Nwachukwu, a former Governor of the state was chairman of the occasion.
