Anambra 2010: PPA repositions to win

AWKA-The Progressive Peoples Alliance (PPA) has declared that its newly inaugurated state executive in Anambra State is ready to work towards sweeping the polls in the state for the party in next year’s governorship election.

The party in a statement  by its National Publicity Secretary, Chief Ben Onyechere, yesterday, said that the party was determined to ensure that the People Democratic Party (PDP) does not again win any state in the region.

He said: “because of gross negligence and deprivation of federal presence in this area, the disadvantaged majority of the South East have learnt their lessons and now know that their enemies are within the political elite who have continued to use the votes of the masses as bargain material to obtain favour, positions and wealth from the Federal Government, with which they isolate themselves from the masses.

“If you look at the PDP you will find out that many of the aspirants jostling for the ticket are people who have no link with the masses, because they are so wealthy that they are only willing to buy votes at the end of which the suffering continues, resulting to more kidnaping and more violent crime of various dimensions in the region.

“The Igbo will never again succumb to people who do not have their interest at heart, but all they are fighting for is how to pay our youth to snatch ballot boxes instead of creating jobs for them.

This time around, our people will vote for good people, who will be one of the masses and who will look after them by creating employment opportunities and not  embezzle security votes.”
