Alile canvasses spiritual rebranding for Nigeria

By Chris Ochayi

ABUJA—Former Director-General, Nigeria Stock Exchange (NSE), Apostle Hayford Alile has said for the ongoing re-branding campaign of the country by the Federal Government to succeed, it must be combined with re-branding spiritually inside out; saying physical and materialistic re-branding alone cannot take the nation to the Promised Land.

Apostle Alile stated this in Abuja to mark the end of a 10-day International Conference 2009, with theme “Nigeria, a new beginning with God” organised by St. Joseph’s Chosen Church of God International.

Alile who is the spiritual leader of the church noted that, the re-branding vision of the president administration is about physical and material re-branding, but what we are saying is re-branding spiritually inside out for the nation to get to the promised land.

Regretting the dwindling fortune of the country, he said, “we are endowed; we are given all the best that God could give to any nation, but we still like to be turning around.

The journey of eleven days or forty days is taking us forty years. This is the issue, and a lot of African nations are looking towards Nigeria to come and bail them out.”

On the significance of the conference to the country, he said, “well, what Nigerians will take away, since independence, we seemed to have made miraculous escapes from collapse.

We seem to have been pretending that we are progressing. We are not really; we are just still in the wilderness just as the Speaker demonstrated to us”.
