2010:Obi’s aide tasks INEC on credible election

Awka -The Special Adviser to the Anambra Governor on Markets and Parks, Chief Sylvester Nwobu-Alor, in Awka, has urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to conduct a credible gubernatorial election in Anambra.

Nwobu-Alor, who is also the Chairman, Peter Obi Campaign Organisation, told newsmen that the organisation would ensure that the election, slated for February 6 next year was devoid of rigging.

“We have had this issue of rigging in Anambra before and those who come in do not want to contest but rig election by whatever means, we will not allow that to happen again. We have put in place/ a structure that will make rigging impossible in Anambra, what we want is a free and fair election in the state. If Obi loses, we shall go home and that is sound politicking. Let the people vote and go home, let their votes be counted and the winner declared, he said.

The Special adviser stressed that Obi’s desire to return as Governor was based on his determination to develop the state, pointing out that the Governor’s administration had carried out various developmental projects across the state.
