NATIONAL Chairman of the Nigeria People’s Congress (NPC), Prince Ngozi Emioma, has said the endorsement of Governor Peter Obi for the 2010 Governorship election by fourteen political parties is based on the excellent track record of his administration in the development of Anambra State.
Prince Emioma made the clarification while reacting to criticisms by a cross section of the political class on the endorsment of Obi.
The NPC chairman explained that the position of the 14 political parties which include CPP, NPC, NSDP, APN, MDJ, NDHDP, UNPP, PPP, Accord and MMN, among others, is anchored on the realities on ground adding that the leadership of the parties carried out what he called a “critical appraisal of what was on ground†before taking the position.
Prince Emioma in a statement, posited that the endorsement was to enable the Governor continue his good works with a view to achieving rapid socio-economic development of the state.
He particularly acknowledged the giant strides made by Governor Peter Obi in the areas of infrastructural development, peace, transportation and provision of dividends of democracy to Anambrarians.
On the performance of the Federal Government so far, the NPC chairman faulted the implementation of the budget and the 7 point agenda of the Yar Adua administration.
