Management of the University of Benin has appointed a new Acting Registrar, who will serve as Secretary to the Governing Council and Senate. She is Chief Rosalyn Anamy Egborge, a Deputy Registrar and Secretary to the College of Medical Sciences.
The new Acting Registrar takes over from the former Acting Registrar, Mrs. Celerina Ojomo, who proceeded last week on leave preparatory to her voluntary retirement from the services of the University of Benin.
Mrs. Celerina Ojomo, who served as Acting Registrar for alsmost three years, personally put in her letter of notification of mandatory retirement, which has beeb accepted by the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Council, Professor Mvendaga Jibo, and the Acting Vice-Chancellor, Professor Emmanuel Kubeyinje, who directed that her full entitlements be paid to her.
The new Acting Registrar, Mrs. Rosalyn Egborge, who takes over as the most senior administrative officer of the university, is also an incumbent eloected member of the Governing Council representing trhe Congregation of the university.
Aged 59, Mrs Rosalyn Egborge, is an alumnus of the University of Ibadan and University off Warwick, United Kingdom, for her Bachelor and Master degrees respectively, as well as Certificate in Advanced Administration.
Mrs Rosalyn Egborge, who hails from Sapele, Delta State, has served in various capacities in the University of Benin as Faculty Officer, Examinations and Records Officer, Admission Officer, and Students Affairs Officer, as well as currently serving as a member of the Education Committee in Sapele and Okpe Local Government Area of Delta State. She has also served as the Head of Department of Extension and Liaison Services of the Rubber Research Institute of Nigeria, Iyanomo, near Benin City, as well as being the Chief Patron of the Man O’ War Club of the University of Benin since 2004.
