Katsina – The Chairman of Musawa Local Government Area of Katsina State, Dr. Lawal Aliyu Musawa, has said that the local government is replicating the Federal Government’s 7-Point Agenda. He made this known in a chat with newsmen adding that all aspects of the agenda were being implemented in the council area.
Musawa described the education component of the agenda as the most fundamental. As a result, he said, the local government had taken various measures to empower the people academically. Dr. Musawa, who has been Chairman of Musawa Local Government for six consecutive times, said he has built three secondary schools in the councl: Inusaye, Tuje and Musawa and each cost fifty seven million naira.
He said that he had introduced a free feeding programme for day students which had increased the school enrolment figures.
He gave example with Tabani Day Secondary School where the enrolment figure shot up from less than forty to more than two hundred students after the introduction of the free feeding programme.
Musawa enumerated other projects executed in the local government area in furtherance of the 7-Point Agenda to include the construction of thirty housing units of two and three bedrooms, one hundred and forty lock- up shops and township roads costing one hundred million naira.
He was optimistic that the 7-Point Agenda was achievable if leaders at all levels of governance co-operated with the Federal Government.
He noted that the President had designed a very progressive working document which, if properly executed, would elevate the nation among the twenty strong economies in line with the Vision 20:2020.
