Jigawa to set up Cassava processing firm

Dutse – Jigawa state government has announced its plan to set up a Cassava processing company in Gwaram Local Government Area of the state in order to improve the trade and industry base of the state. This was reavealed by the state Commissioner for Information, Youth, Culture and Sports, Alhaji Aminu Mohammed.

Briefing newsmen on the outcome of the state Executive Council meeting held at Government House Dutse, the commissioner said the feasibility studies has already been conducted, adding that it gave the government the strength to give the approval for its establishment and that very soon work will commence at the selected side.

Mohammed explained that it will cost about N23 million to establish the company and it is expected to start immediately. He stressed that when fully operational, the company will serve as a revenue earner and a “means of employment to the teeming citizens of the state”.
