WARRIâ€”PRESIDENT Musa Yarâ€™ Adua has been charged to always put the interest of the nation first in all his decision making process to guard against the pitfalls of past administrations.
The National Association of Itsekiri Students (NAIS), which gave the charge, also commended the president for appointing an experienced hand to manage the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA).
The group said the appointment of Mr. Temisanre Omatseye as the new Director-General of NIMASA was a move to re-invigorate the maritime sector and urged him to bring his wealth of expertise on maritime affairs in the country.
NAIS also charged the new DG to ensure that Warri, Burutu, Sapele and Koko ports bounced back to life fully, as they would go a long way in reducing unemployment and arrest youths restiveness in the region.
According to NAIS, President Yar’Adua has put a square peg in a square hole, a move designed to revolutionize maritime sector once again and applauded the appointment.
The group also commended the governor of Delta State, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, on his recent victory at the Election Petition Tribunal and appealed to him to focus more on administering the state and delivering the dividends of democracy to all without sentiment.
