Hajj: FCT Pilgrims’ Board completes arrangement

Abuja – The  Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) Muslim Pilgrims’ Welfare Board disclosed yesterday that it has concluded all necessary arrangements in the areas of accommodation, transportation and welfare for its 2009 intending pilgrims to Saudi Arabia.

A statement by the Board’s Public Relations Officer, Aliyu Usman yesterday, said that a team of FCT Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board led by the Chairman, General Abdullahi Bagudu Mamman (rtd) and the Director, Doctor Shu’aibu Yakubu Kurfi, already in Saudi Arabia, has finalized all arrangements in respect of the hajj exercise.

The statement noted that during the visit, the officials took possession of residential and office accommodations already booked for the operation, adding that several meetings were held with Saudi Arabian agents in charge of rendering services such as transportation, accommodation, and arrangement at the tent city of Muna and Arafat.

“The meeting has ironed out all issues such as sanitation and security of FCT contingents during the 2009 hajj operation.

Residential accommodation would be distributed on the basis the six area councils in the FCT , while officials and ad hock staff would be assigned to each of the houses and all pilgrims would be able to know their room and house numbers before departing the country.
